Blog Category Post listing and search function

Hi,
Just setting up a blog - I want viewers to see a list of categories - and then see posts which are listed under those categories - and have the option of doing a keyword search for posts. Is there a BB friendly plugin that can help do this - or other suggestions? Or any way of adapting the current "blog content template(s)’ listed in the BB templates to do this.

Thanks

Hi Duncan,

If I understand you correctly you want to list all categories you have created and under each category name, all posts in that category?

Like so:

Category A
|_Post 1
|_Post 2
|_Post 3
Category B
|_Post 1
|_Post 2
|_Post 3

If this is the case, you will need to use a plugin as this functionality is not possible out-the-box with Beaver Builder. I did a quick search for you and I believe this plugin may achieve what you’re after (untested).

Thanks,
Danny

Thanks for the suggestion - I notice when I am in “posts” that there is no button for BB - as there is on pages. Is that just a problem with my installation - or is BB pagebuilder not available for posts?

Hey Duncan,

BB is only enabled for Pages by default. You can change this setting under Settings > Page Builder > Posts Types.

Hi - Just a point of clarification - I was referring to WP - add a post - . In those posts I don’t see an option to activate BB as I do with a new page. Also - wondering how the WP posts relate to the post in Advanced Modules - BB.
Thanks for your help.

Hey Duncan,

Yes, the reason why the Page Builder isn’t available is because it is disabled by default on Posts. You’ll have to enable it by checking the Posts post type under Settings > Page Builder > Post Types. Check the screenshot below for reference.

The Posts module allows you display a feed or your Posts or Pages, pretty much like the blog function from WP.

Thanks a lot - everything works as advertised - y’all have done a great job with BB - congratulations! btw - when I’m trying out different home page templates - is there any way to recover the original video or photo that was used as background - if I experiment with other background?

Hey Duncan,

No worries, and thanks for the kind words! Re the video/images on our templates, they’re stored on our server. The only way to get them back is to reapply the template. Does that answer your question?

Thanks Ben,
If I have done some work on a home page for example - using one of your templates - and then tried out another template - is my work lost - or does it stay in place? I was also wondering if I saved a template - and then retrieved it again - would it bring back the background video/images?

Duncan

Hey Duncan,

That would depend. There are 2 options when you select a template, either replace the existing layout, or append the new layout. If you choose the former, it replaces the entire contents of your page, the latter simply adds the template below the existing layout.

Correct on your second question. Once you save the layout as a template, it is saved as is. All contents/styling should be there when you load the template again.
