Bogs down until stops responding

When I’m in Page Builder, as I’m trying to add content, edit, whatever, it seems to continue to slow down, not respond, until I can’t do anything except force quit. Any ideas what could be causing this? I just bought this plugin with high hopes, but if I can’t fix this it’s going to be unusable.

Hi Rick,
Just to add to your request.
I just configured a site for a friend, and he mentioned that he was finding things very slow when editing.
When I asked him to show me, he had a text area open with a huge amount of content & I found when entering text there was very noticeable lag in the characters appearing as you typed.
So I advised him to not have so much content in the one text editor.
Cheers, Dave

Thanks for the piece of advice, Dave! Do you have a lot of plugins installed, Rick? You can try the plugin deactivation route, i.e., disabling all the plugins except BB and see if the problem is still happening. If it doesn’t, go ahead and reactivate the plugins one by one until the problem happens again. If the problem is still happening even after disabling all plugins except BB, we may need temporary admin access to the site as well as hosting server information for us to dig further.

Ben

Thanks, Dave and Ben. I think it’s related to the amount/weight of content. I had a Revolution Slider shortcode inside a text editor on the page I was trying to work with. When I turned off the RS plugin I was able to manipulate the page just fine. I haven’t tried to use the BB built in slider yet.

I’m wondering if adding memory to my machine would make a difference?

Thanks for you help,
Rick

Hey Rick,

Just thought I would chime in here. Upping your server memory would certainly help, but give our content slider a shot. There isn’t much it can’t do for the most part. Let us know how it goes!

Best,
Billy

Just to let you know, Rick, I’m running a testsite with app. 40 active Plugins including BB and Dynamik Website Builder. I just wanted to know how far I can go. It’s cached by WP Rocket and uses a CDN. The site loads very quick and editing with BB is no problem at all. So the problems you’re facing seem not to be related to BB.

Hope this helps, Leo

Thanks for the input Leo. I’ll have to check out WP Rocket. But regarding plugins, all I know is that when I turned off the Revolution Slider so the slider I’d created with it wouldn’t load into the page where I’d placed it in Page Builder, the problem went away.

Thanks again,
Rick

WP Rocket costs some bucks but is worth it. I tried all the Cache Plugs and this definitely works best. Easy to setup. Look at their website. Sometimes they have coupons.

With regards to Revolution Slider: I don’t know this thing. We’re using Soliloquy which in my opinion ist the best WP slider. Very clean and lean code. No probs with other plugs so far.

Always welcome, Leo
