I’m trying to set up a 5 column row.
1st column to be 40% then the other 4 at 15%
EVERY time I changed a column width it affects another column with the width changing on them and i’m just going round and round in circles, it’s like watching some old slapstick comedy film but it’s really not funny.
Yep, same situation I was faced with. Ben from BB came up with the method, but as it is not very intuitive, I put together a quick video to show how it’s done:
Just in case the video didn’t get it across, here is the ‘method’
NOTE: -this MUST be done in this EXACT order!
NOTE: - columns are numbered left to right
1 - drag 5 column row onto layout; there are now 5 x 20% columns
2 - 4th Column: set to 25%
3 - 3rd Column: set to 30%
4 - 2nd Column: set to 35%
5 - 1st Column: set to 40%
Yep, the method above isn’t really intuitive but it’s the only way to get it done, at least for now. It uses a lot of Math as well! But the team is looking into improving the drag and drop interface of the builder within this year and they’ll definitely check that part out.
I am experiencing a bit of 6 column frustration and even start from the column closest to centre and working out doesn’t work! In order to fit my content I need (roughly) 27 8 15 15 8 27, but no mater what I do it keeps readjusting the width! Is it possible?
10% is the minimum width allowed per column. I’d suggest using the draggable column sizes instead of placing the width percentages. It’s so much easier that way.
Oh, I don’t know how to drag columns of certain sizes already defined (is that what you mean?), how do I do that? I have looked and searched to no avail…
Even changing the minimum to 10% is impossible to be specific with the other columns
Not really sure if we’re on the same page here. Here’s a screenshot of what I was referring to when I said draggable column sizes. http://imgur.com/GDhHQc9
It’s part of the new features that was released just recently.
