Issues editing the responsive theme slider

Hey, have just purchased a standard licence and would like to edit the responsive theme ‘slider’ that now appears as the home page. I am obviously missing something, but have had no luck working out how to edit it. Or replace it for that matter.

Any links to info pages, or simple steps to the correct section would be appreciated.

What theme are you using??? WPBB has its own built-in slider-maker which you engage on a page-by-page basis (or post-by-post if you have that turned on.)

If you are using a 3rd party (non BeaverBuilder theme) then you are stuck with learning how that theme grants access to creating and controlling the slider.

As for me, I would NOT put a slider in the theme itself but rather use WPBB to engage that on each page/post it as needed. And, if you want a fancy slider with stuff not offered by WPBB then get a slider-make plugin, create your slider using that, and then insert its short code on your WPBB page where you want it.

This is an on-going issue for many people where they, without realizing it, get confused by choose third party themes that include functionality in them. You can go that route, but, if you choose to keep your theme “clean and clear” - meaning that your theme only has basic design controls and NO functionality, then, you get complete functionality control on a per page basis using WPBB. THAT is the big advantage to WPBB which is a “systems-approach” different from buying themes with functionality in them.

Otherwise you get a mix-up of features, design, functionality, typefaces, page structure all bolixed up in the third party theme - which works if you can hold it in your head what you are doing.

Otherwise, easy way: use WPBB Theme (basic stuff only) and then add functionality using WPBB Design Plugin on a per page basis. That is the easy to keep track on in your head as you progress AND when you return to the site 6 months later when you do not remember it. If you had adopted this THEME-BASIC-STUFF and FUNCTIONALITY-DESIGN using WPBB then it is easy to keep it clear. That works AND you can return to it 6 months later and know/remember what is going on.

You learn ONE design plugin which is WPBB and ONE Theme creator which is WPBB’s theme. Henceforth, the design and functionality lives in the WPBB Design plugin and that system works on any future websites with no need to learn how another 3rd party theme works.

Hey David,

Thanks for the awesome explanation there!

Jennie,

If David’s method above doesn’t work for you. Do you mind sharing a screenshot of the issue you’re facing or probably share a URL link? Or could you elaborate a little bit more? You can upload the screenshot to imgur and paste the link here.

Thanks!
