Working with a Plugin: User Role Editor Pro (Restrict Access to Editing a Page)

I am using a plugin called “User Role Editor” and purchased their Pro version.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/

The Pro version allows me to limit a User’s role so that they are restricted to editing only certain pages based on the Post ID.

When the user clicks on “Edit Page” for a page for which they have restricted access, they get a message stating “you are not allowed to edit this item”, which is how the User Role Editor plugin was built.

However, since BB is installed & activated, it also shows the Page Builder link at the top next to the Edit Page link. If the restricted user clicks on “Page Builder”, they are able to edit the page’s contents and save the changes (even though they were restricted when clicking on “Edit Page”).

Here is a 60s video showing the above steps of being restricted with no access, and then clicking on BB to make a page edit.

Is there a way for BB to inherit the restricted access that the User Role Editor plugin makes?
(I also wrote to the plugin developer for ideas too)

Hey Dustin,

Thanks for getting in touch! Do you think you could send us a copy of the plugin so our lead dev can check? You can send it over to themes [at] fastlinemedia [dot] com.

Ben,

You can close this ticket. I had also posted the question to the plug-in developer, and he got back to me quickly with the bug-fix. It was a known issue on his side.

For reference, the issue had to do with User Role Editor versions prior to 4.19. It was fixed in the beta version (User Role Editor 4.19.b19), which can be downloaded here:

Thanks!
Dustin

Hey Dustin,

Thanks for the heads-up, glad to hear all is good now!

Best,
